Take a look inside Martina and John McBride's love story

Singer and songwriter, Martina McBride, met her husband when she was just 20 years old. Not only did they build a life together, but also her music career.

In the late eighties, Martina formed a rock band called Lotus. The group rented space from John McBride, but Martina soon became annoyed with her bandmates for the slack rehearsal schedule.

According to an interview with People in the late nineties, Martina realized that she was falling in love with the band's landlord, and the couple married less than a year late, in 1988.

As reported by County Living, John also helped her to land her first record deal with RCA Records three years later. Her second album rose to the top of the charts within days after its release.

“Here I was, crying on his shoulder about my band not coming together, and I thought, ‘I’m in love with this guy. This is crazy."

The couple has three children together. The eldest of three daughters, Delaney Katharine, was born in 1994. Emma Justine was welcome into the world four years later and Ava Rose Kathleen in 2005.

Martina credits the success of their three-decade relationship to the fact that they are both "very down to earth." They also support each other unconditionally and have a lot in common.

In an interview with Today, Martina also added dedication, commitment and mutual respect to the list. "A sense of humor is very important," she stated.

The 51-year-old award-winning star's recent work included the release of her 13th studio album, titled Reckless. A Christmas album is also in the works for December 2018.

She has been busy with the Love Unleashed Tour since 2016, and are still to appear in New Salamanca, Lagrange, Machester and Chippewa Falls.
