Before marrying Sharon, Ozzy was married to Thelma Riley from 1971 to 1982. They first met during a night out in Birmingham and soon began dating. They rented a flat together, and by 1971, they were married in a registry office.

"I thought it was what you did: get some dough, find a chick, get married, settle down, go to the pub. It was a terrible mistake," Ozzy wrote in his book, "I Am Ozzy."

Ultimately, he admitted they only stayed together as long as they did for the sake of their children — Jessica and Louis — and Thelma's son, Elliot, whom he adopted.

Despite staying together for the sake of Louis, Jessica, and Elliot, it appears the relationship between Ozzy and his older children had always been tumultuous. In fact, Ozzy once admitted he could not even remember when Louis and Jessica were born.

In the 2011 documentary film "God Bless Ozzy Osbourne," Louis opened up about Ozzy's alcoholism. "When he was around and he wasn't [drunk], he was a great father. But that was kind of seldom, really," he revealed.

Jessica also quipped, "I don't remember being put to bed or having a bath by dad or anything like that."

While Louis was present at the funeral ceremony, Jessica and Elliot were noticeably absent. Their absence also drew attention because they were not mentioned in the family's statement announcing Ozzy's death, which was signed by Sharon and their children Jack, Kelly, Aimee, and Louis.

Fans online quickly questioned this. "Where are his. other two children from his previous marriage? [sic]" one woman asked. "I'm wondering if his three other kids are there," another person questioned.

While many gathered to honor the Prince of Darkness, not everyone agreed on how the public memorial unfolded. As footage of the procession spread online, debates quickly emerged over the tone of the event, with some fans criticizing the atmosphere while others defended it as fitting for Ozzy's larger-than-life legacy.

The funeral was live-streamed worldwide, but some news outlets uploaded shorter clips highlighting key moments from the memorial. One, in particular, showed his widow, Sharon Osbourne, and their children, Jack and Kelly Osbourne, getting out of their car as they arrived at the Black Sabbath Bench.

In the background, many fans and residents of Birmingham were seen standing and cheering behind barricades. Some were even chanting, "Ozzy!" Security personnel were also present, while a local brass band played a rather lively tune.

It was this choice of music and the shouts from the crowd that ignited backlash online. On Facebook, one person wrote, "I don't understand less is more. silence should have been a wonderful tribute [sic]."

Another commented, "I also think it's also disrespectful. - Sharon is clearly mourning ozzys death and the crowd are like they are going to a concert [sic]." A third added, "The crowd should of shown a sign of respect by being silent and letting his family have this moment 😢 [sic]."

One person asked, "What are the crowd screaming for, it not a concert or a football match, have some respect [sic]." On X, many worried for Sharon and the family, with a viewer noting, "It feels wrong to film this . Her grief is raw [sic]."

Another added, "Playing the happiest music when a family is grieving is actully terrible [sic]." However, in response, one person countered, "Ozzy's wishes was to not have a 'mope fest [sic],'" while one netizen clarified, "They played Sabbath and Ozzy songs."
