After Connie Britton left the show, 9-1-1, respecting her one-year deal, this actress' introduction to the show may fill the void created by her absence.

As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, Jeniffer Love Hewitt is making her comeback on TV and has joined the cast of 9-1-1. This will be her return to the small screen after leaving Criminal Minds in 2015.

Hewitt has also acted in projects like The Client List, Time of Your Life, Party of Five and Hot in Cleaveland. Hewitt has worked in numerous movies including Heartbreakers, Can't Hardly Wait and I Know What You Did Last Summer.

On the second season of 9-1-1, Hewitt will play the sister of firefighter Evan Buckley, played by Oliver Stark. Her character, Maddie, will be starting her life as a 911 operator.

Ryan Murphy, the co-creator of the show 9-1-1 told the advertisers at a presentation on Monday. He revealed that Hewitt will be joining Fox and people will see a new side of the actress through the second installment of the show.

Murphy added that the show will be bringing many new faces this season which will also add new twists and turns to the show.

The show has an enviable ensemble of actors including Angela Bassett, Peter Krause, Oliver Stark, Kenneth Choi, Rockmond Dunbar and Aisha Hinds.

Every episode on the show deals with new emergencies and also gradually delves into the personal lives of the individual characters.

The first season of the show was well received and received a viewership of over 6 million viewers. This did not include the number of playbacks on DVR. The season finale was watched by over 11 million viewers.

The show also received a Nielsen rating of 3.1 in the demographics of 18-49. The show will be returning on Fox and will be aired on Mondays. It will be paired with the medical drama The Resident.
