Kathie Lee Gifford speaks about dating and religion since her husband's death
Kathie Lee Gifford shared that she is willing to give love another try as long as the man shares her faith.
In a recent interview with Access Live, Gifford opened up about relationships and her religion to Natalie Morales and Kit Hoover. After losing her husband, Frank Gifford, the Today host shared that she is open to falling in love again.
On August 9, 2015, Gifford lost the love of her life. They have been married for 29 years. One can only imagine the pain and grief Gifford went through when Frank passed away. She was devastated.
Now, during the interview, Gifford shared that she has not closed her doors when it comes to dating. Although, she explained that her chances have become thinner now that she is older and she shared some of her standards when it comes to choosing potential boyfriends.
She shared that some men are intimidated and afraid of strong women, pointing out that she is not interested in men like them.
Gifford went on to say that some men have expressed their fear in living up to what Frank offered her when he was still alive.
She explained, “Frank was just a flawed man like anybody else is. I didn't know him as an eight-time Hall of Famer. He was my husband and he was my friend for four years before we fell in love.”
Even though she is open to the thought of welcoming someone new, she clarified that she is not actively looking for a man. She said that she is not interested in going to single bars nor is she on a dating website.
In addition, Gifford insisted that she is only willing to entertain a man who shares the same views that she has on faith and love.
64-year-old Gifford also revealed that she went on a date about two and a half years ago and confessed that it didn’t work out as well as she had hoped.
She shared that the man did not share her faith and that was a real deal breaker for her.
Still, in spite of that dating debacle, Gifford remains optimistic that she may be able to find love again.
