Teen turned a $50 dress into a gorgeous prom gown
Bespoke clothing items are highly sought after, and high school students MJ Johnson and Nazmayde Castillo transformed an ordinary dress into a prom gown.
MJ shared a photo of the dress on his Instagram account, and his followers wanted to know where they purchased it from.
MJ explained that the dress was bought online for $50, and the Nazmayde 'had the idea to add flowers at the bottom,' turning the ordinary mini dress into a spectacular evening gown.
The final product took two days to make because the pair underestimated the number of flowers they would need to transform the outfit entirely.
For a final touch, they added 'just a touch of glitter' to the cream dress' cobalt blue print.
The couple looked adorable on Prom Day, and MJ wore a bright blue suit to compliment Nazmayde's outfit. He also shared a series of photos with his followers.
His story soon went viral, and the duo's creative talent featured on Teen Vogue, Yahoo, Daily Mail, and Cosmopolitan. His Instagram post received more than 48,000 likes in less than a month.
'I found it on Fashion Nova for her and she had the idea to add flowers at the bottom. A $50 dress is all, flowers was all it took. We both creative.”

A look at MJ's account reveals that he wasn't lying about the creativity. He does regular 'wardrobe mimics' where he recreates celebrity's outfits.
His recent mimics include some of the outfits seen at the Met Gala and he creatively used tinfoil for Rihanna's 'pope' outfit and black bags Cardi B's outfit.
The final results are always hilarious, and the 19-year-old might have a promising career ahead of him if he keeps it up.
