Jordin Sparks steals hearts with picture of newborn son smiling to the camera

“Puddle on the floor” is what new momma Jordin Sparks is after her son stole her heart. In an Instagram post dedicated to the young one, the new mommy expresses her gratitude at having him in her life. The infant, Dana Jr., is the singer’s first child.

Dana Jr. is only a few weeks old, but he has already stolen mommy Jordin Sparks’ heart. The American Idol winner admitted to being reduced to a ‘puddle on the floor' in her loved-up caption to her gummy smiling son.

Sparks’ complete caption speaks of her joy at motherhood and her gratitude for being a new mother.“This smile has my heart forever. I am a puddle on the floor. I can’t believe I get the blessing & honor of being his Mommy. Wow...God is so good!”

Dana Jr., whom the couple calls DJ, was born on May 2 at the Natural Birth Center & Women's Wellness in Los Angeles. He weighed 8 lbs. 4.5 oz.

The singer talked about the birth to People Magazine.

“It was miraculously beautiful. Dana caught him with my midwife, Simona, and when he handed him to me, I was absolutely overwhelmed with joy. He was and is everything we imagined. I’m feeling pretty good! I am so grateful for my husband and amazing team at the Natural Birthing Center. I don’t think I would be feeling this great without them!”

How does she feel about the baby and what awaits her? It's only been a few days and I love it so much already! The joy, laughter, scrapes and bruises…I can't wait for it all!'

Sparks revealed the birth was not as smooth as would have been anticipated. The umbilical cord that “almost looked like a scarf” was wrapped around the baby’s body and neck but the midwife was quick to get it off.
