'American Idol' star posts sweet photo of her baby, DJ

Jordin Sparks, best known for winning the sixth season of American Idol, shared a photo of her new baby, Dana Isaiah Thomas Jr. on her Instagram account.

The image showed ‘DJ’ wearing a pale blue onesie with two giraffes on his chest and the phrase ‘mommy loves me.’ In the caption, Sparks admitted that his smile ‘has her heart forever.’

She finally commented that she couldn’t believe God gave her the blessing of being DJ’s mother. Sparks welcomed her first child to the world on May 2 next to her husband Dana Isaiah Thomas Sr.

According to People, Sparks gave birth at the Natural Birth Center & Women's Wellness, which is strategically located right across the Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.

The couple chose that place preventing any complication that, fortunately, never happened. DJ weighed 8 pounds 4.5 ounces and was 21 and a half inches long. People revealed more details about the delivery process, which was a natural water birth.

Sparks admitted that even though Dana Sr. was with her to catch the baby when he was born, the midwife who assisted the birth was absolutely necessary because the umbilical cord got wrapped around DJ’s neck twice.

The proud mother gave more details about those frantic moments saying that she couldn’t see DJ because she was facing the other way and that Dana Sr. didn’t know what to do.

Thankfully, the midwife noticed the problem quickly and got the umbilical cord off DJ’s neck with no major inconvenient. After that, he was ready to be held by his father and mother.

Sparks confessed that holding DJ for the first time was an ‘incredibly miraculous, beautiful moment’ that couldn’t be duplicated.

She finally admitted that it is similar to the things that movies try to represent but many times stronger. It is a feeling ‘beyond anything’ people could feel in their lives.
