Knox Jolie-Pitt has been growing up almost entirely out of public view, and new photographs reveal just how dramatically he has changed.

The 17-year-old son of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt was recently spotted leaving a Muay Thai class in Los Angeles, dressed in training gear and moving with a calm confidence that has nothing to do with Hollywood.

For a teenager who has spent most of his life deliberately avoiding the spotlight, the candid photos are striking enough on their own. But it is what fans are saying about how Knox looks that has really set the internet talking.

The Teenager the World Barely Knows

He carries a water bottle in one hand and his phone in the other, his expression easy and relaxed as he walks toward a waiting car. His hair is dark at the roots with frosted platinum tips.

He is notably taller, moving with the unhurried ease of someone with no particular interest in being photographed.

Graffiti-covered walls frame the background as Knox walks calmly toward a waiting car, looking more like any teenager leaving practice than the son of two Hollywood icons.

Muay Thai is a Thai combat sport considered one of the most physically demanding martial arts in the world, requiring sustained conditioning and mental composure.

Knox has been training seriously enough to compete at the tournament level. On July 12, 2025, his 17th birthday, he won a Muay Thai tournament in Los Angeles, with Angelina watching from the crowd. That win, in a gym far from any red carpet or celebrity orbit, was an achievement entirely his own.

Fans Debate Who Knox Resembles Most

When the photos began circulating, fans had plenty to say, and the resemblance debate quickly became the main event.

Some were simply taken aback by how much Knox has grown. One fan wrote, "He is beautiful," while others pushed back firmly against comparisons to his famous father.

One commenter wrote, "First time I've ever seen him. Maybe this is just a bad example. But the kid in this picture is not the spitting image of Brad Pitt." Another was blunter:

"Looks nothing like Brad."

For others, the resemblance pointed in a different direction entirely. One fan noted simply, "Looks like his mom." And yet the opposite view had just as many takers. Another insisted, "Completely looks like his Dad!!!"

The debate is not exactly new.

Earlier this month, coverage of Knox’s appearance at his sister Zahara’s college graduation in Atlanta reignited comparisons to Brad’s early-2000s look, particularly because of his frosted tips hairstyle.

Whether any given photograph confirms that comparison depends entirely on which one you are looking at. That, in itself, says something about how Knox has grown: not a copy of either parent, but someone whose face prompts genuine disagreement.

Born in France, Named after His Grandfather

Knox arrived at 6:27 p.m. on July 12, 2008, in Nice, France, the elder twin by exactly one minute. His sister Vivienne Marcheline followed at 6:28 p.m.

The births were by scheduled caesarean section, and ob/gyn Dr. Michel Sussmann said that Brad had been "totally determined, very pleased to be at the birth of his children, very moved and very emotional," cutting both twins' umbilical cords after their deliveries.

Knox weighed 5.3 lbs at birth, Vivienne 5 lbs. They joined four older siblings: Maddox, Pax, Zahara, and Shiloh Jolie-Pitt. Their arrival, the fifth and sixth children born to one of Hollywood's most famous couples, was one of the most widely covered celebrity birth stories of its era.

The name Knox was chosen in honor of Brad's grandfather, Hal Knox Hillhouse. Leon, Brad explained, "is a classic French name," a quiet nod to the city where his son came into the world.

Six Kids, and None of Them Want to Be Famous

Angelina has been candid for years about raising six children who have turned their backs on the industry that made their parents famous.

She has long believed her children should find their own way, and by all accounts, they have done precisely that.

When filming the "Maleficent" sequel in 2019, she tried to get any of her kids to appear on screen with her and was firmly turned down across the board. She said:

"I tried. Viv still can't believe I made her a princess. None of my kids want to be actors. [They're into] business, humanitarian affairs, things like that. Nobody was interested!"

The independence Angelina encouraged in her children extended far beyond Hollywood. Speaking in 2016, she revealed that all six had chosen different languages to study based on their individual interests, creating a household shaped by curiosity and vastly different personalities.

While some gravitated toward French, Russian, Arabic, or Vietnamese, Knox chose to learn sign language — a choice that reflected the quieter, more personal path he appears to prefer.

The list says as much about Angelina's approach to parenting as it does about the children themselves: each one pointed in a completely different direction. Sources close to the family said that Angelina is proud of how resilient and strong the kids are.

Barely Photographed, Barely on the Red Carpet

For a teenager born into one of the most photographed families in Hollywood, Knox has managed something genuinely rare: a private life that largely holds.

His red carpet appearances have been few. One of the most notable came in November 2024, when he accompanied Angelina to the Governor's Awards in Los Angeles, wearing a black suit and bow tie alongside his mother in a long cream and gold gown.

The two posed arm-in-arm for photographers, and Knox, then 16, stood noticeably taller than Angelina as they smiled for the cameras. For a son who almost never appears in public beside his mother, it was a striking moment.

From the World's Most Famous Baby to a Private Teenager

Knox was born into circumstances as extraordinary as any in Hollywood. His very first photos, as a newborn, were sold to People and Hello! magazine for charitable purposes, with Angelina explaining years later that the decision had been made as much for safety as anything else:

"It was just better to control it in a safe place, in a safe way."

Seventeen years after becoming one of the most photographed celebrity babies in the world, Knox appears to be growing into someone far more interested in building a life than performing one.

The rare public glimpses that do emerge suggest a teenager shaped less by Hollywood attention than by discipline, privacy, and a strong sense of self.
