In an exclusive interview with People, Kotb said her life changed when she received news that Haley Joy was up for adoption. When asked if Haley might be getting a sibling, Kotb simply replied: "Never say never!"

Kotb added that her priority is being a mother. Years ago, she would have identified as a journalist first, but she is a different person now.

“She defines who I am, and she also defines priorities and things that matter. She also reminded me that delight comes in small, tiny moments."

She adopted Haley in February 2017, after discussing it with Schiffman. It wasn't easy adapting to the new role of motherhood, but the benefits far outweigh the drawbacks.

Kotb still loves her career and gives it her best, but added that her "true heart" is with her daughter. Haley is the most important thing in her life, and she isn't scared to admit that.

The award-winning journalist celebrated her first Mother's Day this year and wouldn't trade spending time with her daughter for anything in the world.

She loves her family set up and appreciates everything Schiffman does for their daughter. The pair announced their relationship in 2015 after they had already been dating for two years.

Besides being the most popular co-host on Today, Kotb is also a published author. She wrote her autobiography in 2010; it is titled Hoda: How I Survived War Zones, Bad Hair, Cancer, and Kathie Lee.

She also wrote two books which featured inspiring stories from people who survived life-changing events, and her fourth book, I've Loved You Since Forever, was released earlier this year.
