Season 8 final episode of the police procedural drama opened in a shocking way, with the shooting and killing of a character within its first minutes.

After the unexpected death, most of this episode of Blue Bloods, called ‘My Aim is True’ focused on the search for the perpetrator of this crime. But there was a beautiful moment in the end that touched the hearts of the fans.

In the opening scene, Erin Reagan, played by Bridget Moynahan, and boss, District Attorney Monica Graham, played by Tamara Tunie were seen walking outside when the two are attacked with gunshots.

Graham was fatally shot in the incident, right in front of Erin’s eyes. When this reached the ears of Commissioner Frank Reagan, played by Tom Selleck, he immediately suspected the DA was killed by one of the ‘Prospect Park Six.’

That is the name given to a group of men who were convicted by mistake for crimes they didn’t commit, and since they were released, the commissioner believed that one of them was going on a revenge-killing spree.

Later in the episode, Officer Danny Reagan, played by Donnie Wahlberg suggests that one of the men might have paid a hitman to target all the people he believed were responsible for making him spend nine years behind bars for no reason.

Danny was right and he managed to track and arrest the mastermind of the murders in Miami. Then, the hitman, still on the loose, tried to shot Jamie Reagan, played by Will Estes, but Eddie Jamko, played by Vannessa Ray, stopped him.

The audience was relieved of all this tension when they learn Jamie finally proposed Jamko. As expected, Jamko said yes, for what she was introduced as the ‘new Mrs. Reagan’ in the Reagan’s family dinner.

‘Happy #BlueBloodsFinale Friday! Tweet to me at 10/9c and let's ride this finale out together w [blue heart love]! Can’t wait 'til you see how this one ends,’ Wahlberg tweeted the day the episode was aired.
