The tragic incident happened on June 1, 2018, in the evening. Gunshots were heard around 7:10 p.m. in the parking lot of the Whitehall Township shopping complex.

ABC6 reported that the shots were fired right outside the Macy’s store. Allegedly, a brawl inside the store also occurred around the same time. The investigators are still figuring out whether the two incidents are related.

As for the casualties, two mall-goers were injured and immediately rushed to the hospital. The authorities did not give a comment about the condition of the victims.

The suspect is yet to be identified by the investigators. They are expected to give a description as soon as possible to increase the chances of catching the person responsible for the crime.

Walter and Kendra Brocius from Bethlehem came to the mall with their young children. They had just arrived and parked their car when the shooting started.

Kendra said that they had just pulled in and Walter opened the door to get out of the vehicle when they heard the first gunshot.

She told her husband to get back in the car immediately.

They were not sure at the time whether it was indeed gunshots they heard but they locked their car doors as a precaution.

Walter said, "It happened so fast and you're trying to process it real quickly, but you realize once you saw some folks running through the parking lot that, hey, something might be going on.”

The police working on the case have been asking help from anyone who may have been witnesses to the incident to come forward and help with the investigation. Photos and videos taken can help as well.
