Prince George attracted quite a lot of attention for playing with a toy gun during a family outing with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

His sister, Princess Charlotte also tagged along as the royals attended the Maserati Royal Charity Polo Trophy at Beaufort Polo Club in Tetbury, Gloucestershire, on Sunday, June 10, 2018.

While Prince William was focused on the match, his family was sitting on the grass. There, Prince George drew the photographer's attention by playing with a police toy set, and the pics ended up on Twitter..

The young royal always had a fascination with the law, but seeing him play with a gun, a pair of handcuffs and a plastic knife didn't amuse some people online.

Daisy Torme, a Twitter user, didn't approve the fact that Kate Middleton and Prince William let their four-year-old son play with a gun, even though it was only a plastic one.

According to her, no children should be allowed to play with toy weapons since it encourages them to perceive said weapons as fun toys. Torme added that seeing George handling the gun looked 'far too real.'

Torme used her American nationality to justify her opinion, considering that the country has been dealing with a streak of violent school shootings since the beginning of 2018.

Another Twitter user that goes by the name of Just Juliette, agreed with Torme, arguing that many people have already lost their lives because of children finding weapons around the house and picking them up believing that they were toys.

Recently, in March, a two-year-old boy from Mobile, Alabama, shot and killed his one-year-old brother after finding a 9mm pistol in one of the bedrooms. Neighbors rushed in after hearing the loud bang and found the baby lying on the floor.

Gun violence is one of the most commons issues in today's society and many movements are working towards ending it. If you wish to learn more about it, consider following us on our Twitter account @amomama_usa.
