Bode Miller expecting fifth child - after daughter's tragic pool death
The couple shared their happy baby news in April of this year, but could never have foreseen the tragedy that would strike before they welcomed their fifth child.
Bode Miller and his wife, Morgan Miller, announced in April that they were expecting another baby in October of 2018. But on June 10 their world came crashing down when their youngest daughter, Emeline, drowned.
On May 29, just 2 weeks before the accident that claimed the 19-month-old's life, Morgan took to Instagram to share a photo of herself at the doctors office for a ultrasound appointment with Emeline.
"Checking out baby with my other baby," she captioned the sweet image of herself kissing her little girl's head as she held her tight
The couple, who married in 2012, are also parents to 3-year-old son Nash Skan. Bode has two children from a previous relationship as well: 10-year-old daughter Neesyn, and 5-year-old son Samuel.
Sadly, Morgan had been at a neighbor's house in the Coto de Caza neighborhood of Orange County, California when Emeline had found her way into the pool.
Morgan performed CPR on her daughter while the paramedics were en route to the house, and the toddler was then transported to a nearby hospital, according to the Orange County Fire Department.
Unfortunately, doctors were unable to resuscitate her.
“We are beyond devastated. Our baby girl, Emmy, passed away yesterday. Never in a million years did we think we would experience a pain like this,” the couple wrote on Instagram. “Her love, her light, her spirit will never be forgotten. Our little girl loved life and lived it to it’s fullest everyday."
They further requested that their privacy be respected as they mourned the terrible loss of such a happy little girl.
