Taraji P Henson stuns as Cleopatra in Egyptian-inspired costume in pic with 'Pharaoh' beau
The “Empire” star has been on cloud nine since she announced her engagement last month, after keeping her relationship away from the spotlight for almost two years. Taraji dished on the proposal and said to be overwhelmed but not ready to plan the wedding yet.
She has been blessing our screens with her acting talent on “Empire” for three years now. The series has opened many doors for her in the entertainment industry, earning her not only several roles in films but also many accolades that recognize her performance.
Taraji has been riding the wave of success, both professionally and personally, and it seems like her life just keeps getting better. Just last month, her boyfriend of two years, former NFL star Kelvin Hayden, got down on one knee and put a ring on her finger.
It happened on Mother’s Day and it took Taraji by surprise, even though she confessed that if she had put the dots together she would have known. He took her to the restaurant where they had their first date, and after eating, they went to the backroom with the excuse of a friend having a birthday get together.
However, what Taraji found was a violinist, and when she turned around, there was Kelvin on one knee. “And then the river of tears just started and my lashes ended up on the floor,” she revealed to Entertainment Tonight.
The couple has been sharing their love for each other on social media and red carpet events since then, and one of the recent pics posted by Taraji on Instagram, gave us a throwback to Halloween. Wearing Cleopatra and Pharaoh costumes, the gorgeous couple stunned fans with their golden attires and lovely vibe.
“#Tbt us as Cleo and Pharaoh #thatsmybestfriend,” Henson captioned the picture.
Taraji, 47, is currently filming “What Men Want” and two more of her films will be released this year. “Empire” just finished its fourth season and will start filming the fifth very soon, so it’s safe to say that the actress is pretty busy.
She confessed to ET that there are no wedding specific plans on sight yet. She’s enjoying life with her fiancé while everything settles down for her.
“People are hitting me up. It's starting to get overwhelming, and we're thinking, we're talking a year from now, and I know how fast that's going to go, so it's a lot. I'm trying to just enjoy being blissfully engaged for a minute.”
Taraji and Kelvin make a lovely couple and we’re glad they are enjoying life together while also working on their individual projects. We can’t wait for their big day to arrive.
