Steven Tyler sings impromptu duet with blind girl
It's not everyday one gets to sing a duet with a musical icon. But it was a lucky day for the 13-year-old singer.
A video uploaded to YouTube showed 13-year-old singer Sarah Hardwig singing a part of Stand By Your Man with the iconic musician Steven Tyler. Hardwig was born with Leber's congenital amaurosis, which has impaired her eyesight.
The video was recorded just after Marty Stuart's Late Night Jam at Ryman Auditorium in Nashville. Musician Tyler noticed the remarkable talent of the young girl and decided to boost her confidence by singing with her.
Tyler approached the girl and encouraged her by saying that he thought was looking at a big star. He also complemented Hardwig's voice by saying, "That was beautiful, sing it again. I wanna sing it with you."
The girl then began hitting the notes on the microphone and Tyler awaited his turn to join in. He cleared his throat and nervously said, "I don't know if I can do it."
Tyler then attempted to harmonize his voice with Hardwig's melody, and the pair performed a beautiful duet for a while before the song ended.
Both of them looked delighted to have performed together with Tyler hugging Hardwig after the performance and complimenting her by saying, "That was beautiful."
He also turned to one of the people recording the video and ensured that the footage was, in fact, being recorded.
The video has been adored by many fans on the internet. The brief clip has been viewed more than 4,000 times so far.
Hardwig has turned into a small-time YouTube star in her own right with many of her videos on the channel gathering thousands of views.
But amid all the recognition she has received so far, the one she got from the iconic singer Tyler should be one of the most memorable ones for her.
