Andy Cohen commented on fans' assumptions that he's dating close friend

Despite his deceitfully young looks, the host of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen has reached the milestone age of 50, and he shared some insights about his personal life with CNN on June 19.

Cohen and 40-year-old John Mayer have been the subject of rumors of being in a relationship together for years now, and a birthday serenade Mayer gave Cohen for his birthday on his talk show feed the long-going rumor on June 2.

It is not surprising then that the interview soon came to this issue, and Cohen used the opportunity to deny that he is dating Mayer, not before admitting that they ‘have a great love for each other.’

‘Listen, we have a very sweet friendship, and we are together all the time. I think that I was not surprised because we also have a great love for each other. So, it just seems like the obvious assumption,’ Cohen said

While Cohen is the first openly gay man to host a late night talk show, and he has been outspoken about his orientation publicly at least since 2007, but Mayer has been known to date famous women in the past.

Nevertheless, Mayer has no problem to joke about his ‘bromance’ with Cohen. In his appearance on Cohen’s birthday episode of his show, the singer asked him: ‘Do you think people wonder if we’re in a secret relationship?’ Cohen’s simple and Frank answer to this was: ‘All my team does’.

Mayer also took to Instagram to share a loving message for his friend, posting a picture of the two which he captioned: ‘Made it just in time to give a hug to the birthday boy, strum a few songs, and take this photo with NASA-level filtering on it.’

When questioned about whether or not he wanted to date someone ‘in Hollywood,’ Cohen answered that he wasn’t particularly interested in someone ‘who is in entertainment.’ Read more on our Twitter account @amomama_usa
