Lena Waithe stops hearts in public appearance with her girlfriend following their engagement

Actress, screenwriter, and producer Lena Waithe shocked many fans by taking her fiancée Alana Mayo to the MTV Movie & TV Awards.

Not only did Waithe posed on the red carpet next to Mayo, but also took to Instagram to share a photo of their special outing. In the image, Waithe is seen wearing black pants, shirt, and sweater that had some white details on its sleeves.

Mayo opted for a different style as she put on a sleeveless dress that had two colors: it was aquamarine on the top and black on the bottom. The pair seemed to be very in love as Waithe was kissing Mayo on the cheek.

One of the aspects of the photo that attracted more attention was Waithe’s left hand, which was placed ‘too low.’ In the caption, the actress thanked her ‘glam squad’ and revealed to be happy to have the ‘world’s best date’ right next to her.

As soon as she uploaded that image, her fans and followers took to the comment section to share their support. One of them was Instagram user Gina Lopez, who admitted that there was ‘too much love’ in the photo.’

The duo went to the MTV Movie & TV Awards a couple of months after Waithe proposed to Mayo in Tokyo. During an interview the actress had with the podcast Homophilia, she revealed how had it been and why it took place in Japan.

Waithe said that it happened on Thanksgiving 2017, which was even more special because Mayo usually goes to her family home in Cleveland, but they decided to join a friend on his Asian trip.

Later, the actress revealed that her proposal wasn’t as eccentric as people might think because Mayo is a relax and calm person, so she did it in the morning, in the bed, in a very ‘low-key’ way.

Even though they have not revealed when they are planning to get married, the love they share is evident.
