Police arrested suspect in gruesome murder of famous singer

Jahseh Dwayne Onfroy, the rapper known professionally as XXXTentacion, was shot and killed earlier this week while leaving a motorcycle dealership.

As reported by TMZ, several eyewitnesses saw two masked assailants flee the scene and authorities investigating the case had surveillance footage to inspect.

It has now come to light that 22-year-old Dedrick D. Williams was arrested on Wednesday and charged with murder in the first degree.

He is currently being held at the Broward County Sherrif's Department. Williams has an extensive record, including drug possession and violently harassing his girlfriend.

TMZ learned he also has a previous grand theft auto violation as well as driving without a valid license. His motive for killing XXXTentacion is still unclear.

According to Daily Mail, Williams is a tattoo artist who posted photos of his tattoo work on Instagram, as well as posing with large bundles of cash.

Authorities speculated that the murder might have started as a robbery gone wrong since Dedrick and his accomplice fled with a Louis Vuitton bag and a large sum of cash.

According to XXXTentacion's lawyer, the rapper wanted to purchase a motorcycle, which would explain the sum of money.

However, TMZ updated their article to include that Williams had been following XXXTentacion on Instagram.

USA Today reported that XXXTentacion attacked his girlfriend two years ago and that he was facing trial for the assault of Geneva Ayala

Despite their history, she was devasted to learn of his passing and said on Twitter that it's 'disgusted that people are speaking' for her.

She added that what she went through at his hands didn't cost her her life, but his death is permanent. She said she's not relieved or happy, but 'broken.'
