Ben’s wife, Connie, received a phone call from their daughter, 6-year-old Valerie’s school asking the mother to have someone pick up her child.

Little Valerie was not sick or hurt, which made Connie feel relieved.

As it turned out, Valerie felt embarrassed and cried after she had wet her pants during school hours.

After the call, Connie dialed Ben’s number and told him what happened. She asked her if he could pick up Valerie at her kindergarten school

When Ben found out what happened to his daughter, he felt bad knowing that she must have been feeling terrible and ashamed. He wanted to do something to make his beloved girl feel better.

Talking about it to ABC7, Ben said, “She was heartbroken and so my heart just kind of melted.”

Ben decided to pour water on his own pants. When he arrived at the kindergarten, he went straight to the school office where Valerie was waiting.

When he saw her, Ben asked permission from his daughter if he could borrow her backpack because he also had to hide his own accident.

Valerie burst into laughter and gave her father the bag. In a snap of a finger, Valerie switched from sad to happy thanks to her father.

Ben’s eldest daughter, Lucinda, shared the entire story on her Twitter page.

To the family’s surprise, the story went viral, making Ben and Valerie Internet-famous.

Lucinda posted a series of photos of her father and her sister along with the caption that wrote, ‘My little sis had an accident today at kindergarten & this is how my dad left to pick her up so she wouldn’t feel so sad/embarrassed.’

Ben and Connie are parents to eleven kids. Seven of them are their biological children, while the other four were adopted.
