Roberts has not been into social media in the past. She has no official accounts on popular platforms like Twitter or Facebook, unlike other stars. But now, it seems that she is ready to test the social media waters after creating her now-verified Instagram page.

Since she created a profile, Roberts already blessed the Internet world with two posts, which thrilled her fans a lot.

The first photo she posted had the caption ‘Hello’ along with a sun emoji.

On the photo, Roberts can be seen casually sitting under a tree and displaying a big smile for the camera.

The 50-year-old put on denim shorts and a black sweater that had the word “love” in front.

Hours later, the Hollywood A-lister posted another shot. For the second one, Roberts can be seen with her close friend, celebrity stylist Elizabeth Stewart.

The black and white shot showed the two women flashing huge grins as they wore matching shirts that read, ‘You can’t make everyone happy. You are not an avocado.’

Fans immediately shared the news of their idol’s new social media account on Twitter.

One fan, Kathleen Bobo, tweeted, ‘Julia Roberts is on Instagram now so I no longer care what the rest of you are doing.’

Carrie also wrote, ‘Apparently Julia Roberts just joined Instagram. Good things come to those who wait!!!’In the past, Roberts already expressed why she was not fond of social media.

In an interview in 2013 for Marie Claire, Roberts compared social media to cotton candy.

“It's kind of like cotton candy: It looks so appealing and you just can't resist getting in there, and then you just end up with sticky fingers and it lasted an instant,” said the actress.

She added, “There's an anonymity that makes people feel safe to participate in hatefulness.”

As of now, Roberts’ followers continue to grow by the minute. Fans will have to see whether Roberts will stay active on her page or not.
