'Big Bang Theory' actress undergoes surgery just 5 days after her wedding

The Big Bang Theory star Kaley Cuoco was all set to enjoy her honeymoon until a medical situation stalled her plans.

Kaley Cuoco is recovering post her shoulder surgery which took place five days after her wedding. The couple will have to wait for the injury to heal before heading out on their honeymoon.

On Thursday, Cuoco posted a photo on Instagram with her husband, Karl Cook. Cuoco posed with a look of disappointment from her hospital bed while Cook beamed a big smile for the photograph.

Cuoco thanked everyone for their love and support and also joked that she was glad how her hair color was perfect while she lay in a hospital. Another image showed Cuoco sleeping on her couch with her pet dog by her side.

Cook also shared a photo of Cuoco seeming to look unhappy. Cook joked that Cuoco had a memorable and unique version of that 'newlywed glow' with the hashtag #shouldersurgeyhoneymoon

He posted a video of Cuoco snoring on the drive back home.

Cuoco shared videos on her Instagram Story, one in which Cook was trying to give her a topknot bun.

In another video showing them preparing to watch The Greatest Showman, Cuoco can be seen making fun of her new husband for 'not looking sad enough' for her.

Cuoco and Cook married on June 30, as reported by Pop Culture. The wedding was held at Cook's horse ranch close to San Diego.

Although the wedding was a private affair, many of their friends and family posted videos on social media. One friend posted a video of the couple's dance to The Keeper of the Stars.

Cook also posted his full vows, in which he said he fell in love with Cuoco the moment they met. In the post, Cook mentioned that she loved her from the first time they met.

He continued, in his post about how he would take care of all errant insects that might come to their house and will continue to support her love for animals and concluded with the cheesy line "From this breath to my very last... I am yours."

Cuoco will begin work on the 12th season of the CBS hit, The Big Bang Theory, after her honeymoon.
