Woman loses 170-lb after getting rid of 2 common habits

She knew that she was hopelessly overweight, and wanted to shed the pounds, so she identified her two mistakes. After breaking those bad habits, she rapidly dropped 170-lbs.

As reported by American Web Media, Jessica Beniquez's two big errors were watching her favorite Netflix shows for several hours in a row every day and indulging in unhealthy fast food on a daily basis.

While she enjoyed her activities and the food she was eating, it had quickly become dangerous to her health.

Each passing day that she chose to continue with that lifestyle, more pounds were added to the scales, and the risk of developing a weight-related problem increased drastically.


On May 10, 2018, Beniquez wrote on Instagram: "The end of February 2016 was my turning point. I was over 320 lbs age 20 [sic]."


Thankfully, it was then that she identified her two main problems and she knew exactly how to change her behaviors.

Beniquez then made a life-changing decision that would have an almost instant impact on her life: eat, go to work, and watch her favorite shows.

Though it doesn’t seem like much of a change to the bad habits that had gotten her into this situation, that’s exactly what she did at the beginning of her journey. 


Beniquez stopped eating fast food, instead opting for healthier alternatives that drastically reduced her daily caloric intake and help her body burn them away.

Foods high in protein and fiber were taking up space in her refrigerator for the first time in years. 

She started reading the labels of the products she bought, and stopped buying the ones that had added sugar, choosing instead to purchase more natural, unprocessed foods.


Apart from changing her eating habits, she also started exercising more. 

Even the 5-minute walk to the bus stop was hard for her when she first started out, so she decided that rather than watching Netflix so many hours a day, she would log on to YouTube and watch free workouts routines instead.

Eventually, she was healthy enough to start going to the gym to exercise there. 


Now, over two years since she decided to make a change in her life, Beniquez's weight ranges between 140 and 147 pounds.

"I am now ranging between 140-147 which is LESS THAN HOW MUCH I LOST!! Over 170 lbs gone forever and NEVER COMING BACK!!! [sic]" she wrote. 


Beniquez has become a role model for her more than 442,000 Instagram followers and 13,000 YouTube subscribers, who have followed her journey and become inspired by her incredible will power to lose so much weight. 

Using her social media accounts, she encourages others in her former situation to lose weight by telling her story and sharing important tips she has learnt, including exercise routines and recipes for healthy meals and snacks.
