Gabby Sidibe has been giving fans a glimpse into her weight loss journey by sharing stunning photos of her slimmer body on Instagram, and we can tell she feels as good as she looks.

In one of her recent posts, the “Precious” actress is rocking a striped red and white mini dress that put her toned legs on display. She completed the look with sandals and her raven locks styled in long braids.

“I neglected to take a vacation this year.....but I’m vibrating on a 22 all year long so it is what it is,” she wrote in her caption.

Fans immediately took to her comment section to shower Gabby with praises; one fan wrote “I see you Gabby. Loving it and you look Great. Keep doing you Gurrrl,” and other added, “You look amazing and your such a motivation to others.”

The 35-years-old has come a long way in the entertainment industry. Her first leading role in a movie earned her an Academy Award nomination and opened doors for her in Hollywood, but even after proving how talented she was, her weight was holding her back.

Hollywood’s beauty standards have been limited to a specific type of figure for years, and even though Gabby tried not to let that stop her, she realized a change was needed if she wanted to keep on adding credits to her acting career.

However, Hollywood’s pressure was not her only motivation. Gabby and her brother were diagnosed with type 2 diabetes a few years ago, and that, combined with being overweight, was putting her health at risk.

So, after trying to lose weight through the traditional methods and failing to see results, she decided to go under surgery in May 2016.

Gabby knew that the laparoscopic bariatric surgery was her last resource, and she confessed to People magazine that she did it because she didn’t want to be worried all the time about “losing my toes.” And added:

“I took a long time to do [the surgery] because I really was trying [to lose weight]. I outlived my first trainer! He died of cancer. He was so great. I lost a ton of weight with him; then I didn’t; I really, really tried — I gave a valiant try. So I’m glad that I finally realized that the surgery wasn’t the easy way out. I wasn’t cheating by getting it done.”

And even though she’s been open about her weight struggles, Gabby doesn’t appreciate people congratulating her because of her weight loss.

Speaking to Robin Roberts, one of the hosts of "Good Morning America," on her podcast “Everybody’s Got Something,” Gabby revealed why it angers her when people compliment her on losing a few pounds.

“You don’t need to congratulate me on it,” she said. “You don’t congratulate me every time I blow my nose. I needed to. It’s my body. Mind your own body.”

Sidibe added that she always wanted to be recognized for her talent, her work, and her voice, not for her body, and added that the whole “admiration” thing is “so misogynistic.”

“We tell women what they need to look like, and what they don’t need to look like,” she explained.

“There are plenty of like fat guys or whatever, and no one has ever written think pieces about why they need to lose weight. No one’s ever going to accuse them while they were, you know, on a show promoting their film, that they’re actually promoting an unhealthy diet.”

Gabby keeps on stunning with her looks and confidence, and we're glad to see her feeling and looking good.
