Famous American athlete confirms relationship with Miss Universe 2017

Tim Tebow confirmed the rumors that he dated Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters in his recent interview.

In an interview with ESPN's Pedro Gomez, the former NFL quarterback opened up about their relationship. Gomez mentioned that Nel-Peters was a great person and he was lucky and felt blessed that she had come into his life.

23-year-old Nel-Peters is originally from South Africa but now lived in New York. Tebow added that he was a private person and liked keeping his personal life away from the media glare.

Nel-Peters was crowned Miss Universe in November 2017 and uses her platform to speak about gender equality, pay equities, and the importance of having self-confidence.

She believes that the Miss Universe crown symbolizes a woman overcoming fear and conquering her dreams. The young icon mentioned she would like to instill the feeling of courage and self-confidence in other women.

Del-Peters also confessed her desire to teach self-defense workshops for women after she was carjacked; an incident that took place after she was crowned Miss South Africa.

She had escaped the carjacking by punching one of the attackers in the throat.

While the couple did not confirm any dating rumors, the social media world was pleasantly surprised when Tebow's sister Katie, shared a picture of her brother and Nel-Peres on Instagram.

Tim Tebow previously dated Miss Universe 2012 Olivia Culpo, but the two broke up in 2015 after just a few months.

Last spring, Tebow opened up and share that he was looking for someone he could relate to and made clear that he was looking to get married and start a family.

He mentioned that faith was essential to him and that he would like to be with someone who shared his beliefs. Tebow was named as one of People's Sexiest Men Alive in 2014.

At that time, he mentioned that while being physically attracted to a person was important, what mattered was being drawn to the person who the person was on the inside.
