Students surprise deserving cafeteria worker with sweet gift
High school students from Bishop Manogue Catholic High School surprised their caring and friendly cafeteria worker, Lynn Marner, with a thoughtful gift.
The clip was uploaded on YouTube on March 3, 2015, when ‘Dude. Be Nice.’ project traveled to Reno, Nevada, for an unforgettable day.
“Lunch Lady Lynn” received a pleasant surprise when high school children from Manogue High School students presented her with her favorite barbeque dinner and a Southwest gift card so she could fly home to visit her unwell mother as many times as possible.

Lynn Marner was working hard like she did every day, serving lunch to the students of the school she has been working in for many years.
She was unaware of the fact that the students were preparing to make her day one of the most memorable days of her life.

The students of Bishop Manogue Catholic High pulled Marner aside from her workstation and made her sit at one of the cafeteria tables.
The students were wearing ‘Dude. Be Nice’ t-shirts, except one boy, who wore a tuxedo. His job was to bring Marner to the table. The table was then covered with a white cloth.
“On behalf of the Bishop Monogue students, we want to thank you for everything you’ve done for our school and for making us smile every day,” the boy in the tux said to Marner as the rest of the students started to sing Be our guest.

Each student gifted her a rose in the vases that were placed on the table. She was then served a big plate of barbeque food, her favorite as she was born and brought up in Memphis, Tennessee.
Marner was in tears by this point and was smiling hard through those tears. The assembled students started chanting “We love Lynn.”
The organizer of the Dude. Be Nice project, Kyle White, handed her a Southwest gift card.
Lynn was clearly speechless and had the biggest of smiles on her face. She was joined by all the gathered students for the meal and they spoke of the love and respect they had for Marner.
The students thanked the Dude. Be Nice project for helping them execute the plan. The project features a different high school for each of their programmes or ideas and they educate students on the importance of giving and kindness.
