Dennis Quaid made a frank confession regarding former marriage to Meg Ryan
Even 17 years after his messy divorce with actress Meg Ryan, Dennis Quaid considered it his 'most successful relationship.'
The 64-year-old actor opened up about his high-octane relationship with America's sweetheart, Meg Ryan, that concluded with a bitter and highly-publicized divorce, in an interview with Megyn Kelly on the Today show.
He admitted that when the duo went out on the street, Ryan's stardom made him realize that he was not as popular as her. When the couple first met, they were shooting for the movie D.O.A.
Quaid and Ryan tied the knot in 1991 on Valentine's Day. They had their first child together, Jack Quaid, in 1992. Read more about Meg Ryan and Dennis Quaid on our Twitter account @amomama_usa.
Quaid explained that he was a 'big deal' when he started dating Ryan. But as time passed, people started calling Ryan's name everywhere they traveled. This made him feel like he had suddenly disappeared from the limelight.
"It was my most successful relationship. When we met, you know, I was the big deal. And then my career came to a halt. It was a growth opportunity. I learned from that"

Quaid appeared on the show to promote his latest film, Reagan based on former President Ronald Reagan. Quaid shared that Reagan was his favorite president and he loved to research about his character for his new role.
Mark Joseph, producer of Reagan said that he always believed that Quaid was the perfect choice to portray the character of the former president on the big screen.
Joseph shared that he gave him a Reagan cowboy hat replica to feel the character. Quaid said to him that he felt the hat was too big to fit in but believed that he could grow in it.
Joseph was charmed with Quaid's dedication to the role and was confident that the project was going to be a successful one.
