Hillary Clinton, General Colin Powell, and Madeleine Albright would all star on the show on October 7. All three politicians have already filmed their scenes.

Madam Secretary’s fictional character, Elizabeth McCord who’s played by Téa Leoni, will get advice from three real-life secretaries of state. That’s how the season 5 premiere will begin.

On the episode, Hillary Clinton, General Colin Powell, and Madeleine Albright will all act as themselves. They’ve already filmed their scenes earlier this month during the series' first week of production.

She added that finding time in their busy schedules when they were all available was a miracle. “We welcome Secretary Albright, Secretary Clinton and General Powell to the Madam Secretary family!" McCreary stated.

"We're delighted to have these three former secretaries of state be part of our season premiere. It was a privilege to experience their perspectives and discourse both in and behind the scenes."

In the episode, McCord will ask Albright, Powell, and Clinton for advice on a delicate matter. Albright served as secretary of state from 1997 to 2001 under President Bill Clinton.

She was the first woman to hold the post. All three politicians aren’t strangers to acting as Albright has appeared on Madam Secretary once before, guest-starring in season two.

She also played herself on Parks and Recreation and Gilmore Girls. From 2001 to 2005, Powell was President George W. Bush's secretary of state.

The former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff had an uncredited cameo on JAG in 1997. From 2009 to 2013, Clinton served under President Barack Obama as secretary of state.

She had a cameo on Broad City in 2016 and appeared opposite her Saturday Night Live portrayer, Kate McKinnon, in 2015.
