Dr. Oz's granddaughter fainted during a White House ceremony — but her mother has now broken her silence sharing photos, a health update, and thanking President Donald Trump for his support.
Dr. Oz's daughter, Daphne Oz, shared a public update after her daughter Philomena, 11, fainted during a recent visit to the White House. In a heartfelt message posted on April 20 on Instagram, she expressed gratitude for the support they've received and confirmed that her daughter had quickly recovered.

"Thank you to everyone checking in on Philo after her big day in the Oval Office," she wrote, adding, "We are so grateful it was nothing serious, and she bounced right back — with a trip for some delicious Navy Mess soft serve for good measure!!"
"So glad you posted. I was hoping she was okay. Well you will never forget the experience!" one netizen commented. Another shared, "What a proud day for your family and father! So glad your little girl is ok." A third person added, "So glad your daughter is all good! 💕Looks like another great family trip! 🌷💛"

Daphne also praised the White House medical staff for their swift response and care and offered a personal thank you to President Donald Trump for the compassion he showed during the unexpected moment.
"He was exceedingly warm, caring and generous as he spent personal time with each of them at the Resolute Desk and gifted them treasures to take home," the caption further read.

Photos shared alongside the post showed Philomena smiling and back on her feet, surrounded by her family, helping to reassure those concerned after the incident. The moment also served as a reminder of how deeply motherhood shapes Daphne's worldview.
A mother of four, Daphne reflected on the birth of her first child and wrote, "Becoming a mom means meeting your baby and a new version of yourself in the same moment."
Now years into motherhood, she revealed that raising her children remains front and center when evaluating any career or investment opportunity. "It informs all my decisions," she explained.
"It changes how I think about success, trade-offs and balance, and what I say yes or no to. But it also gives me perspective and expertise that I love to share," Dr. Oz's daughter continued.
She added that parenting is an ongoing learning experience, stating, "It's something you'll never feel you've 100% mastered — I am always learning, asking questions, looking for examples, and redefining what it means to be a good mother in my mind."
As we previously reported, Dr. Oz had just been sworn in as the administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services on Friday, April 18, when Philomena reportedly fainted during the ceremony, abruptly halting remarks by President Trump.

The event was held in the Oval Office and officiated by Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
Dr. Oz stood with family members, including his wife, Lisa, and his children, including Daphne and her siblings, Arabella, Zoe, and Oliver. Several grandchildren were also present, positioned on the other side of the Resolute Desk.

President Trump was delivering remarks on Dr. Oz's appointment when the incident occurred. In the course of his speech, the president shifted to the topic of nuclear weapons and warned those in attendance that they would be in "great danger" if Iran became armed with a nuclear weapon.

During this moment, a commotion broke out in the room. Footage from the event shows journalists reacting as the situation unfolded. One of Dr. Oz's daughters can be heard saying, "Philo fainted, Philo fainted. Dad, go!" Dr. Oz then walked over to check on his granddaughter before returning to President Trump's side.
White House aides quickly intervened and began ushering people out. "Everybody out!" one aide yelled. Another added, "Get out right now." A third voice was heard instructing, "No photos."
Although the video did not capture the moment of Philomena's collapse, it did show Daphne and Oliver helping her out of the room. Philomena appeared to be ill as they exited. The footage then cuts off.
In a statement issued after the incident, a White House spokesperson confirmed, "We are happy to say she is okay." Daphne and her husband, John Jovanovic, are parents to four children: Philomena, Domenica, Giovanna, and a son. Philomena is the eldest.
