People: Kanye West's father is seriously ill according to recent diagnosis

Singer and music producer Kanye West is dealing with a difficult time in his life. His father, Ray West, was recently diagnosed with cancer.

According to People, the star’s father was diagnosed with prostate cancer. Initially, reports had wrongly diagnosed him with stomach cancer.

Now that his father, Ray West, has been diagnosed with prostate cancer, Kanye West, 41, is said to be relying on his family’s support. His wife, Kim Kardashian West, and their 3 children North, Saint, and Chicago have been by his side.

A source shared, “Kanye doesn’t really talk about it. You can tell it’s something that’s very difficult for him.” An insider from the reality show Keeping Up with the Kardashians was the one who originally broke the news that Kanye’s father was diagnosed with cancer and has been getting help.

They added that Ray appeared to be responding well to the treatment and everyone was hopeful that he would be okay. The star’s wife is said to be supporting Kanye during this tough time as they’ve always been there for each other.

According to Fox 29, the singer has dropped everything that he was doing to be with his father as he gets the treatment he needs. Originally, it was reported that Ray had stomach cancer.

However, since then multiple sources have confirmed that it is actually prostate cancer. Daily Mail reported that Kanye and his father were last seen out in public together in March.

The two were spotted having lunch in Malibu. On his 2016 album, The Life of Pablo, Kanye dedicated a song to his father titled Father Stretch My Hands Pt. 1.

This is a tough time for the star as he has already lost his mother, Donda West, in 2007. People reported, at the time, that Donda had undergone cosmetic surgery for liposuction and a breast reduction in November during the same year.

After the surgery, she chose to go home and recover instead of doing so at a medical facility. The following day, family and friends called 911 after she took a turn for the worst.

The singer’s mother died at Centinela Freeman Hospital at the age of 58. The final manner of death could not be determined and Kanye dedicated a song to his mother’s memory titled Hey Mama.
