Mother shares touching moment 6-year-old boy gets his dream of becoming a big brother
Jessica Marotta’s son, six-year-old Mikey, always wanted to be a big brother. When he was finally given one, his reaction was heartwarming and priceless.
Talking to People, the 39-year-old mother of two revealed that Mikey had always been asking for a baby brother. Jessica said they would always tell him that his brother will arrive “when it’s time.”
She explained that Mikey wanted to be a brother badly since he would see all his friends and classmates having siblings.
Even though it made him sad, Jessica said Mikey remained patient.

In late 2016, Jessica and her husband Michael, 38, found out that she was pregnant. Unfortunately, she suffered a miscarriage after just 11 weeks in January 2017.
The couple decided not to tell their son about the miscarriage. She said, “We would never want him to be burdened with that sadness.”
Eventually, eight months later, Jessica was pregnant again. Despite the happy news, she was scared to suffer another miscarriage.
She did not tell anyone besides her husband. Jessica said they waited until she reached her 12th week before they told Mikey.
When Mikey learned about the pregnancy, he was very excited. In fact, Jessica said he was emotional at the time.
Soon, on March 6th, baby Jake was born via C-section. He was nine weeks early and weighed 1 lb., 12 ounces.
As soon as the delivery was done, Jake was taken by the doctors and Jessica was only allowed to see her baby on the next day.
As for little Mikey, he was able to see his baby brother on the day he was born, but it was only until a week later when he was able to hold baby Jake for the first time.
Jessica captured the sweet moment and posted the photo on her Instagram page. She said it was a precious time and Mikey was very excited.
“It was probably one of the most emotional things I’ve ever seen without a lot of tears because he was so happy at the same time,” Jessica told People.
Five days after she gave birth, Jessica was released from the hospital, but baby Jake had to stay in the neonatal intensive care unit for 62 days.
Jessica, who originally shared her story with Love What Matters, said that her two sons are now inseparable.
