Mother writes perfect life-lesson letter to disrespectful son and it goes viral
Fed up with his teenage son's arrogance, Heidi Johnson decided to write him a letter telling him how much being independent will cost him.
He took a picture of the hand-written letter and shared it on Facebook.
"Since you seem to have forgotten that you are only 13 and I'm the parent, and that you won't be controlled. I guess you will need to learn a lesson in independence," she wrote in her letter to her son, Aaron.

She then told him that he might as well buy back all the items she bought for him in the past since he was bragging about making his own money now.
She also told him to pay his share of costs for rent, electricity, internet and food. She even enumerated the cost.
Ms. Johnson also reiterated that Aaron should help with the household chores.
"You will need to keep your bathroom clean weekly, prepare your own meals and clean up after yourself," she said, adding that she will charge him $30 maid fee for every day she has to do it.
"If you decide you would rather be MY CHILD again instead of a roommate, we can negotiate terms," she ended the letter.
Ms. Johnson's post quickly went viral. It has been shared more than 167,000 times and elicited 15,000 comments.
Several fellow mothers praised her for what she did.
"I always advocate for family working as a team. I'm glad for all involved that your son is learning how to be a good teammate and had a better understanding of how life works. If he was embarrassed that's an unfortunate mistake, but this is not an example of public humiliation," wrote Rochelle Trotman-Norman in the comments.
Ms. Johnson also clarified that she had no intentions of public shaming her own son.
"It was originally intended for friends, but I clicked public on accident. It's out there; and I am not ashamed of what I wrote," she explained in another Facebook post.
