Princess Charlotte always looks adorable in her gorgeous dresses, but there is a reason behind her not wearing anything apart from dresses when she is out in public.

According to Hello magazine, people will not see Princess Charlotte in any other outfits apart from dresses for a long time because of a tradition that is followed by the young children of the Royal family.

Her older brother Prince George is often seen wearing shorts to public engagements, which also comes down to tradition.

Following the footsteps of Royals throughout time, young girls from the family have only worn dresses for public engagements.

"If you look at photos of young Royal girls – from Princess Anne to Princess Charlotte, you will notice that they tend to wear smocked dresses as little girls when they are in public with their parents – getting dressed up… a clean, traditional look."

Marlene Koeing, Hello, August 5, 2018.

Even though there are no set rules that say little girls cannot wear trousers, it still followed because it is a custom.

Koeing said that the little Princess would probably be in a dress when she is out with her mother, for a public event. Her dress code will also remain the same for formal portraits, such as on the balcony for the Trooping of the Colour.

Princess Charlotte’s mother, Duchess of Cambridge Kate, coordinates her outfits, usually with a matching cardigan, shoes and a bow.

According to Koeing, when the Royal children are at home playing, they perhaps wear more casual clothes.

Princess Charlotte, the second child of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, was born on May 2, 2015, and is fourth-in-line to the throne after her older brother, Prince George.

Princess Charlotte has already shown an interest in fashion. In June 2018, her father Prince William visited Liverpool where he was gifted a pink satchel as a gift for his daughter. It was embossed with the Princess's name, Hello Magazine reported.

Although she is only three years old, Charlotte is already obsessed with fashion, said her father, Prince William, according to AOL.

He spoke about his daughter's fixation with fashion after he received the satchel from bag-makers Keith and Gail Hanshaw.

He said that Charlotte would be obsessed with the bag and it'll be difficult for him to get the satchel away from her. The Duke of Cambridge also received blue handbags for Prince George and Prince Louis as gifts.
