'227's Jackée Harry turns 62 and stuns in off-shoulder top in birthday picture
Jackée Harry just set the bar higher for women in their 60's when she posted a photo as she turned 62. The veteran sitcom actress showcased her enviable curves and youthful glow setting some serious age-defying goals.
Jackée Harry just turned 62 and she looks fabulous. A photo the sitcom legend posted marking her special day has many wishing they looked this good in their sixties.
Known for her roles in the sitcoms ‘227’ and ‘Sister Sister,’ two of the biggest black sitcoms of their time, Harry is the first and only African-American to win an Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series. That being said, Harry is one of the more influential comedians who easily steals the scene throughout the span of her 30-year career.
Now in her 60’s Harry continues to command attention not only for her immense talent but her ageless beauty. In 1997, she opened up about the secret to her youthful glow and simply credited it to a lot of water and rest. The actress revealed she takes naps at least twice a day, once at 11 am and another at 3 pm.
Harry also cites her positive outlook in life as a factor in keeping her young.
“I really thought I’d be depressed as I got older, and it does take hold of me sometimes, maybe for an hour or so. But I stay positive. I’m all right age-wise. I realized there’s nothing you can do about it. You can get plastic surgery up the yin-yang, but that old body is still going to be there.”
There’s no doubt Harry was right in downing a lot of water and investing in plenty of rest. Her recent photo proves that. She’s definitely still a stunner more than a decade past the golden age. In her latest tweet, she rocks a skintight black pantsuit with off the shoulder sleeves. She also sported bangs that flattered her youthful face even more.
“62 and stuntin’ on ‘em,” Harry wrote to accompany her fabulous pic.
Fans totally agree. One commenter even wrote,
“How are you looking younger than when I first saw you on TV WHEN I WAS 8 YEARS OLD IN 1994?!?”
While others exclaimed,
“62 is the new 21”
“If this is 62, take me there!”
Rumors are swirling a ‘Sister, Sister’ reboot is in the works. While that hasn’t been confirmed, Harry did reunite with one of the show’s stars, Tamera Mowry, during her 40thbirthday bash. Harry shared a photo with the birthday girl from the special occasion held in Napa and expressed her disbelief of how time flew. Tamera and her twin sister Tia were only 15 when ‘Sister, Sister’ premiered in 1994.
Meanwhile, Harry is currently part of OWN’s new comedy, ‘The Paynes’ which is a spinoff of the TBS sitcom ‘House of Payne.’ Harry wasn’t part of the original show but she’s definitely a great addition to the new show as JoAnn, Curtis Payne’s cousin.
