Melissa McCarthy's 'Lip-Sync Battle' perfomance stunned audience on Jimmy Fallon’s show

Before "Lip Sync Battle" became a stand-alone program the segment used to appear on Jimmy Fallon’s show "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon."

In 2016, the host battled with actress Melissa McCarthy singing two songs each. Fallon didn’t stand a chance as the actress put her heart into every performance and even earned a standing ovation from the audience.

Two years ago, actress Melissa McCarthy appeared on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" to promote her movie "The Boss." She showed her acting ability when she took on the host, Jimmy Fallon, in "Lip Sync Battle"

Fallon started off the first round with his rendition of Melanie’s "Brand New Key."

“I don’t get nervous a lot, I’m pretty freaked out about crushing you,” McCarthy said to the host before gracing the stage for her turn.

For the second round, Fallon tried to step it up with Zayn Malik‘s hit "Pillowtalk." Despite his efforts, it appeared the actress was determined to win.

“So I’m obviously going to close with a 'Pocahontas' song track,” she stated.

She channelled Pocahontas and sang Alan Menken’s "Colors of the Wind."

Her performance included the wind storm in the original Disney film, which was made possible by glitter and confetti. McCarthy thrilled the audience as fake animals came flying into her hands as she sang her heart out.

The audience and the host were in stitches as they watched the performance draw to a close. The actress managed to win the battle with a standing ovation.

"Lip Sync Battle" was commissioned to Spike in 2015. The segment has since rarely appeared on the show that helped make it famous.
