Officer stops five older ladies for driving too slowly, but their response is quite unexpected

Speed limits are a thing that every rider on the highway is bound to take seriously and follow strictly. However, reading the highway signs sometimes can be a bit more complicated than one has imagined.

In this hilarious story, an elderly woman’s honest mistake led to comical revelation after a police officer stopped her for not following the speed limit.

Once a police officer pulled over an elderly woman at the highway for driving slower than what was the required speed.

The woman was going so slow in the highway, at the speed of just 22 miles per hour, that the officer thought to himself, “This driver is just as dangerous as a speeder”

The officer approached the car and noticed that there were five elderly ladies inside. Two of them were sitting at the front while the rest of them were at the back. He noticed that all five women were wide-eyed, and their skin was as white as ghost.

“Officer,” the elderly woman, who was driving the car, said, “I don’t understand. I wasn’t breaking any rule. I was going exactly the speed limit. What seems to be the problem?”

“I’m sorry, ma’am,” the officer replied. “You weren’t speeding. But driving much slower than the limit can also be a danger to the other drivers.”

“What are you talking about?” the woman replied. “I was going exactly the speed limit. I was at twenty-two miles an hour.”

The officer suppressed his laughter and gently reminded the elderly lady that the ‘22’ sign on the highway was not the speed limit but rather the route number.

The woman was embarrassed by this revelation. She thanked the officer for clearing her mistake and for letting her know.

The officer then decided to let the woman go, but before they went their way, he wanted to ask them a question.

“Tell me, ma’am,” he said. “Is everyone in this car okay? These lovely ladies seem completely shaken and they haven’t uttered a single word this whole time.”

The elderly lady replied, “Oh they will be okay in a few minutes, officer. Actually, we just got off Route 119.”
