Woman breaks down in tears when she hears ‘special’ voice from her husband’s gift
Jennifer Jones-Prothro is a 38-year-old pregnant woman from Vacaville, California, who didn’t want to know the gender of her baby unless her husband James found out a creative way to reveal it.
In the video that Ana Young, one of the eight children of the couple, uploaded to Twitter, Jennifer appeared sitting on a couch clearly happy wearing dark leggings and a loose grey shirt while holding a little speaker system.
Then, James’ voice started coming from the speaker saying that it was the most special and creative way he could think of to tell her the sex of their upcoming child. He added that he couldn’t do it without a little help.
At that point, Jennifer must have thought that all her children would sing a song and make the big announcement or something similar, but the truth was different.
The person who started talking was Jennifer’s father, Charles, who died from cancer in 2017. James patched together several voicemails that his father-in-law left Jennifer while he was still alive.
Given the fact that the audios were old, the quality was not that high. However, James – and Charles – delivered the message. “Hello Jenny, this is your father! I want to let you know that it is a girl.”
From the very first moment Jennifer recognized her father’s voice, she was very surprised. When Charles said that they were expecting a girl, she covered her face with one hand and bursts into tears. “It is a girl! I love you, bye bye!”

James then sat next to her and told her how much he loved her while Jennifer kept crying. So far, the video has got more than 139,000 retweets and 500,000 likes.

WHY WAS JENNIFER AVOIDING TO KNOW THE GENDER?
The Sun reported that Jennifer had learned the gender of each previous baby in advance, so she decided that this time she wanted to keep it a secret unless the gender reveal was meaningful and special.
A TRIBUTE TO CHARLES
Apart from that, Jennifer wanted to wait until the birth as a way to honor Charles, who always wished to be surprised at the birth of her previous babies.
For that reason, James knew that Charles had to be involved somehow in the gender reveal. "I could think of no better way than to hear it from her Dad! Rip Mr. J and thanks for your help," wrote James on Instagram.
