Michael J. Fox and Tracy Pollan are one of the strongest couples in Hollywood, who recently celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary.
In an interview with People, the couple, having recently celebrated their milestone wedding anniversary on July 16, opened up about what kept them going strong over the years.
58-year-old Pollan told the magazine that they are used to giving each other the “benefit of the doubt.” She revealed that Fox always assumes that she is doing the best she can in any given situation.
Further elaborating his own marital philosophy, 57-year-old Fox told the magazine, “Find the best things about you and the best things about life and celebrate them.”

Following their marriage, it didn’t take long for the fate to put their philosophy to test. Just three years into the relationship and Fox was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.
The news saddened Fox and it even drove him toward alcohol addiction. However, with Pollan’s support, he was finally able to accept his condition and overcome alcoholism. Currently, Fox is one of the leading advocates in the campaign for finding a cure for the disease.
Despite a big difference in their backgrounds, they both have a history of being raised in large families with a strong sense of humor.
Fox is an Episcopalian-raised high school dropout from Canada while Pollan is from a Jewish New York family. Speaking about her upbringing, Pollan also told the magazine that it was always “us against the world.”
Pollan believes that she has created exactly that with her relationship with Fox as well.
The couple share four children – 29-year-old son, Sam, 23-year-old twin daughters, Schuyler and Aquinnah, and 16-year-old daughter Esme.
Among his children, his son Sam has grown into a spitting image of his father. The younger Fox shares similar features with his handsome father including his nose, mouth, and his dreamy gaze.
