Swedish royals share photos of smiling Prince Gabriel from his 1st birthday
The Swedish royal family released two new images of Prince Gabriel as he turned one. His parents thanked him for spreading happiness in a birthday message.
Gabriel celebrated his birthday on August 31. To honor his exciting milestone, the Swedish palace uploaded two adorable portraits of the young royal.
Prince Carl Philip, 39, and Princess Sofia, 33, posted a close-up photo of their second child on their joint Instagram account.
“Congratulations beloved Gabriel," the proud parents captioned the snap. “For a year you have spread joy to us and big brother!”

In the photo, Gabriel is seen smiling and showing off his bright blue eyes.
Another photo of the baby was shared by the Swedish Royal Court’s official Instagram account, where the young royal is seen happily looking at the camera.
Gabriel wears a light blue shirt that matches his eyes in the photos. He also wore the same color in a family portrait released last month. He was with his big brother Prince Alexander, 2.
As reported by People, in a November 2017 interview with Swedish magazine Kupé, Sofia and Carl Philip opened up about what it was like to become a family of four.
"It’s quite different having two children rather than just one,” said Carl Philip, who is fourth in the line of succession as of 2016.
Sofia, a former glamour model, said that having two children is an adjustment, but a positive one.
“We do get glimpses that it’s going to be tougher with two than with one,” she said. “But there is also twice as much love.”
Carl Philip agreed: “Gabriel and Alexander are still so small, but it’s so exciting to follow their development. It’s great to be part of their journey.”
Carl Philip and Sofia were married on June 13, 2015, in Stockholm's Royal Palace chapel. Thousands of people lined the streets to witness their big day.
Sofia, who competed in a Tough Viking obstacle course over the weekend, recently revealed the online bullying she endured early in her royal relationship.
