Simon Cowell didn't approve of 'AGT' singer who paid tribute to Aretha Franklin
Christina Wells wowed the audience with her rendition of Franklin's "Natural Woman," but not everyone was impressed.
While the other judges applauded Wells for her performance, Simon Cowell felt as though it wasn't her best work.

According to People, Simon Cowell said the song was over-orchestrated and added that Wells "hit some bum notes."
That said, he still thinks she's a great singer and hopes that this performance doesn't define the type of singer she is. He said:
"I am hoping that we forget all that and remember the great singer that you are and the person you are. This was not your best performance."
The other judges had nothing but praise for Wells, with Tyre Banks saying that "Aretha Franklin is in the Dolby Theatre tonight, yes she is."
Heidi Klum even gave Wells a standing ovation and said she doubts any of the other singers has the talent to do that song justice.
When asked later that evening what she thought of Cowell's remarks, Wells said she is still proud of every moment she stands up there.
“I stand here for people who don’t think they’re perfect. People who are maybe too heavy or maybe they thought they weren’t the right color."
She doesn't stand up on that stage to sing every note right, but to inspires others who never felt like they fit in.
"When I look in the mirror, the woman who did that is not skinny and is not perfect, but she’s me. For the first time in my life, I feel just right."
Wells is proud of her accomplishments and added that America's Got Talent changed her life.
Earlier this month, Cowell also stopped the music while a contestant Ronee Martin was singing to tell her that the song wasn't right for her.
Martin was given a second chance and also chose Franklin's "Natural Woman," with the audience standing to applaud her afterward.
