Granddad bursts into tears when he sees his grandchild and realizes daughter lied to him

Following several generations of only women getting born in the family, James Patrick burst into tears when he learns that the newest member of the clan is a beautiful baby boy.

Landry James Patrick had spent his life surrounded by females, with two sisters, four daughters, and two granddaughters. So he couldn’t hide his strong feelings when the first male to be born in his family since his own birth was in front of him.

The baby, who, to make things much more special, was born on his grandfather’s 49 birthday, was named Landry James after the happy man, as Inside Edition reported. What a great birthday present!

Keeping the baby’s gender secret until the last minute in order to surprise Patrick the day of the delivery was not an easy task for the family from Illinois. Read more on our Twitter account @amomama_usa

"The problem was our daughter, who is 4, already knew so we had to talk her into keeping it a secret. I just can’t believe we pulled it off,” Patrick’s daughter Carie Elbe told Caters News.

“Dad has been the only boy in a long line of girls, so when we found out the baby's gender at 20 weeks, we knew we had to keep it from him.”

As soon as Patrick entered the hospital room where his daughter was awaiting him with her newborn in her arms, he was shocked by the news that had been so carefully hidden from him for months.

Baby Landry was wearing a shirt with a sign written on it that read: “For your information, I am a baby boy,” as can be seen in the video of the emotional moment, which was shared on YouTube.

This is how Patrick’s long wait for a boy who could share manly things with came to an end. It is not surprising that he wasn’t able to hold back his tears at the sight of his first male descendant.

The clip went on to become viral, receiving close to 2 million views, 3.000 likes and hundreds of comments from YouTube users, who congratulate the whole family and felt touched by the story.

54-year-old Kennedy Zarour didn’t have to wait that long for a baby boy, but he was caught on video in a similar situation to that of Patrick’s, who after having five daughters was shocked to discover his sixth child’s gender the day of his birth.
