Matthew Perry gives fans an update on his health after leaving social media for six months

Matthew Perry recently revealed that he has spent the last three months stuck to a hospital bed after being away from the public eye.

The 49-year-old actor, known for playing the role of Chandler Bing on the hit show F.R.I.E.N.D.S, shared the news on Saturday, September 15, 2018.

Perry took to his Twitter account to let his fans and followers know why he hasn't been active on social media and that he was still recuperating.

Last month, it was announced that Perry had been submitted to surgery on account of a gastrointestinal perforation, but the exact location of the hole in the gastrointestinal tract wasn't mentioned.

Other details, such as his lengthy recovery, were also not addressed, leaving the world guessing whether the 49-year-old was doing well or not.

At the time, his representatives just informed the media about the surgery but left out how severe his ailment had been, leading fans to turn to social media.

Several people, such as Stephanie Ann Magno, showed appreciated for Perry's Saturday update; she also wished him a quick recovery and said that he has been missed for the past few months.

The former "F.R.I.E.N.D.S" actor is yet to reveal any details regarding the illness that landed him in the hospital in the first place, so fans will have to rely on some future updates to know more.

But while Perry has been stuck to a hospital bed, Jennifer Aniston, with whom he worked on "F.R.I.E.N.D.S.," has been enjoying some time off, lying under the sun and working on her tan.

The actress was recently photographed in a blue bikini, which displayed her toned abs, as she prepares to start working on "Murder Mystery," a Netflix comedy with Adam Sandler.
