Lyric McHenry's death shocked the world especially since it happened just after she celebrated her 26th birthday. The celebrant was found dead in the Bronx with drugs found right next to her, which was tragic as she just posted on social media hours before she was found.

McHenry's family and closest friends made sure to commemorate her life, as she spent it very well. Present in the memorial was Samuel L Jackson, EJ Johnson, her best friend, and his dad Magic Johnson. Boxer Sugar Ray Leonard and "Empire" star Jussie Smollett also made sure to attend.

While on tour, Stevie Wonder also recorded a video of himself playing a song which he dedicated to the 26-year-old and her parents, who are still hurting and in-shock after what had happened. Senator Kamala Harris, who Lyric previously interned for, also sent a video tribute to the late star.

She found fame after starring in EJ Johnson's reality TV show "EJNYC", but she lived a spectacular life even prior to that. She was particularly active in politics, joining Senator Harris' office, and even meeting the Obamas during their term.

The circumstances around her death remain a tragic mystery, as detectives are currently pursuing a "person of interest", or the last man to see her alive. Hours before she was found dead, she was celebrating her birthday with her sister and friends 14 miles away, but left with the mystery man.

Her death was a shock to her parents, Doug and Jennifer, who found out during a post-mortem medical examination that their daughter was actually five months pregnant when she passed away.

Lyric's friends and family have traveled to pay respects in the past few weeks, and 300 showed up to her memorial service last Sunday. Check out the tributes here.
