During the event held by Duchess Meghan to commemorate the launch of the cookbook she helped create, she gave the first public speech as a member of the Royal family.

One of the most striking aspects of it was that Meghan did so flawlessly and without notes, proving that she was very focused on the “tremendous labor of love.”

Apart from the Duchess of Sussex, her husband, Prince Harry, and her mother, Doria Ragland, were at the event. Both of them were proudly looking at her while she gave her three-minute speech.

Among the things Meghan said, she pointed out that the women of the Hubb Community Kitchen welcomed her shortly after she moved to London, a city that she labeled as “multicultural.”

“I just recently moved to London, and I felt so immediately embraced by this kitchen — your warmth and kindness, and also to be able to be in this city and to see in this one small room how multicultural it was,” said Meghan.

Apart from that, she pointed out that there were 12 countries represented in the group gathered during the event, which was “pretty outstanding.”

Meghan made sure to note that it was her first project since she became a member of the British Royal Family, something that was even more special to her.

The former “Suits” actress wrote the foreword of the cookbook, titled "Together: Our Community Cookbook," that includes many recipes from a group of women from a community deeply affected by the Grenfell Tower fire in West London in June 2017 where 72 people died.

“I said in the foreword that this is more than a cookbook, and what I mean by that is the power of food is more than just the meal itself. It’s the story behind it. When we get to know the story of the recipe, you get to know the person behind it,” added Meghan.

One of the videos of the event shared how Harry and Meghan exchanged a smile, proving how proud the man was of his wife’s work.

The Duchess of Sussex recently attended the 100 Days of Peace concert at Central Hall Westminster in London next to Harris.

For the event, Meghan put on a dazzling cobalt-blue sheath dress by Jason Wu that showed off her elegant figure.

It was calf-length and had an intricate yet subtle ruffling at the neckline. Apart from that, Meghan put on matching cobalt-blue slingback heels by Aquazzura and carried a small rectangular navy-blue clutch bag.
