For their wedding on Friday, Jack Brooksbank presented his bride, Princess Eugenie with a Welsh gold ring. The ring was made from a piece of Welsh gold which was a gift from the Queen.

However, Eugenie received a very rare engagement ring from her then-boyfriend. She got a padparadscha sapphire ring.

In January, Princess Eugenie announced her engagement to boyfriend Jack Brooksbank. In a rare interview, she showed off her engagement ring in a series of portraits taken at Buckingham Palace.

Brooksbank revealed at the time:

"I went and found an amazing padparadscha sapphire but then didn't want to do anything until Eugenie had signed off on it.”

The ring looks quite a bit like Eugenie's mother's engagement ring. Sarah “Fergie” Ferguson’s engagement ring featured a Burmese ruby surrounded by diamonds.

Her ex-husband and Eugenie’s father, Prince Andrew designed it himself. Reports say that padparadscha sapphires are one of the rarest forms of sapphires.

No other bride will ever be able to have the same one. Its name was derived from an ancient Sanskrit word used to describe the color of a tropical lotus flower.

The sapphires vary in color from pink to orange. They are mainly found in Sri Lanka, Tanzania, and Madagascar and only a few people know about them.

Princess Eugenie and Brooksbank released four official portraits from their Royal wedding on Friday. They chose Alex Bramall as their photographer.
