Who is Zoe Kravitz?

Zoë Isabella Kravitz, actress, singer, and model, is the daughter of musician Lenny Kravitz and actress Lisa Bonet. She made her acting debut in 2007 in the film, "No Reservations."

She is best known for her role as Angel Salvadore in "X-Men: First Class," and more recently for her role in "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them." She also starred in Big Little Lies.

Early life:

Kravitz was born in Venice, Los Angeles, California. She has African-American and Jewish bloodlines from both her parents. Kravitz is a secular Jew.

Her parents married in 1987 but divorced six years later, when she was just five years old. Kravitz lived with her mother in Topanga Canyon, until the age of eleven. She then moved to Miami and lived with her father. Kravitz has a younger half-sister and a half-brother from her mother's second marriage to Jason Momoa.

Kravitz enrolled at Miami Country Day School, moving on to Rudolf Steiner School in Manhattan, New York. She graduated from Rudolf Steiner in 2007.

After graduation, Kravitz began studying at the State University of New York at Purchase. She studied acting but left college after a year. Kravitz then moved to Brooklyn, New York and began working on films.

Until the age of 24, Kravitz has suffered from anorexia and bulimia. The problem started in high school.

Career:

Kravitz was cast in her first film role in 2007 while still in high school, in the film, "No Reservations." She also landed a role in "The Brave One" in the same year.

2008 saw her appear in Jay Z's "I Know" music video as well as in will.i.am's music video for "We Are the Ones." She also starred in "Birds of America," and "Assassination of a High School President."

Kravitz went on to co-star in the drama, "The Greatest" in 2009. The following year she appeared in "It's Kind of a Funny Story," and "Twelve." She followed this with a starring role in "Beware the Gonzo."

In 2011, Kravitz was in "Yelling to the Sky," eight episodes of "Californication," and "X-Men: First Class." Then, towards the end of 2011, Kravitz starred in "Treading Water," but the film was only released in 2013, under the title "The Boy Who Smells Like Fish."

2013 saw Kravitz co-star in M. Night Shyamalan's "After Earth," followed by a role in "Divergent" in 2014. She reprised the character in the sequels; "Insurgent" and "Allegiant." In 2014, Kravitz also starred in "The Road Within," "Pretend We're Kissing," and "Good Kill."

2015 was a busy year for Kravitz with appearances in "Dope," and George Miller's "Mad Max: Fury Road." In 2016, she co-starred in "Vincent N Roxxy," and "Aladdin." She also had a cameo in "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them."

Kravitz starred in "Gemini" in 2017 as well as in "Rough Night," and "The Lego Batman Movie." Since then Kravitz has been working on the series "Big Little Lies." In 2018 she also played a role in "Kin" as well as reprising her role in "Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald."

Besides acting, Kravitz has dabbled in fashion modeling and even music.

Personal life:

Kravitz currently lives in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. She has been in a relationship with Karl Glusman since 2016.

During the US presidential election run, Kravitz endorsed Senator Bernie Sanders for President.
