Ice-T arrested by police as he was driving to the ‘Law & Order: SVU’ set
On Wednesday morning, actor Ice-T was arrested in New York City. The star had driven through a bridge toll without paying.
At the time, the actor was on his way to film “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (SVU).” According to the star, he drove off without realizing he didn’t pay because he was in a new car.
Ice-T, 60, real name Tracy Lauren Marrow, was arrested while driving his $270K McLaren sports car into New York City. The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey said he was taken in for “toll evasion.”
The actor approached the George Washington Bridge on the New Jersey side and according to a source he “tried crossing in the E-ZPass lane, for drivers who prepay tolls with a transmitter.”

The police then pulled him over. His new car was also not registered so the police “arrested him for evading the toll and gave him a ticket for the unregistered vehicle.”
It appears that it was all a misunderstanding as Ice-T explained that he’d “simply forgot to bring his E-Z Pass with him” being that the car was new. He revealed that he actually has seven passes in his other cars.
Ice-T was released by the police and went straight to work on his show “Law & Order: SVU.” The actor has been on the TV show for 19 years and stars as Sgt. Odafin “Fin” Tutuola.
The star confirmed the arrest on Twitter, writing:
“Cops went a little Extra. Coulda just wrote a ticket. In and out.. Moovin.”
He also posted another tweet joking about how playing a policeman didn’t give him extra rights. Ice-T wrote: “I love how people think just because I ACT like a cop on SVU I get special treatment from real cops… lol.”
