Her stray friend was spending the cold night alone on the street, so the sweet Lana decided to share her blanket with him and keep him company, even though they were on different sides of a gate.

Lana taught her humans and people all over social media a lesson on generosity and kindness. She’s still a young dog, but she hasn’t forgotten her humble beginning and decided to step in to give a paw to a stray dog.

The lovely black dog lives in Brasil, where she was rescued from the street along with her siblings. It wasn’t long until she was adopted and taken into a new home by Suelen Schaumloeffel and her fiancé, gaining a new and happy life as a cherished companion.

But despite having all the love and attention that any dog could hope for in life, Lana didn’t forget how hard life can be on the streets.

A HEARTWARMING ACTION

The weather can be ruthless where she lives, so, one day her thoughtful owner bought a fluffy blanket to make sure Lana was warm in the dog house located on the family’s backyard. Schaumloeffel tucked the cover on Lana’s home through the night, and the next morning her fiancé witnessed a lovely picture when he was leaving for work.

Lana had dragged part of the blanket outside through the garden’s gate to share it with another dog that lives on the streets.

Moved by his dog’s actions, the man snapped a picture that was shared on Facebook and has earned over 46k reactions. In the pic, both dogs can be seen sound asleep on extreme ends of the blanket, separated only by the gate.

“Each on one side of the fence, but the two of them warm. I swear, when I saw the photo, I got emotional. God, I was so proud of her,” wrote Schaumloeffel on the caption of the pic.

HELPING THE STRAY TO SURVIVE ON THE STREET

The woman stated that she had seen the other dog for the first time a few days back, but when she tried to get closer to see if he had an identification plaque, the animal ran away, so she wasn’t entirely sure if he was a stray or not. But Lana didn’t care about that and helped him anyway.

“I thought, 'How beautiful what she did for her friend,'" Schaumloeffel told The Dodo. "My best four-legged friend reminded me of something so important: generosity!"

Schaumloeffel and her fiancé kept seeing the dog around, but every time they tried to get close, he would run away. They’re hoping to help him find his home if he’s lost, but meanwhile, they left food and water outside to make his life easier, knowing that Lana would do the same is she could.

“She is the nicest little dog I've ever met," Schaumloeffel said. "We sometimes forget the difference we can make in someone's life. She reminded me of this.”

A BLESSED HARVEST

There are many ways in which animals often help their peers, whether is a fellow dog or a human. Another doggie who became an internet sensation is a dachshund that learned how to work in the field with his human to make his workload a lot easier.

In a video posted the facebook, the adorable animal can be seen filling up holes with earth where his owner had previously planted potato seeds.

The clip has earned over 7.8 million views, and while most people find the dog’s action adorable, some animal activists are worried about the tough training the pet probably went through to learn how to help his owner.

One user wrote:

“God, this made me cry. Watching what this angel does make me think, how did they teach him? Was it through beating and screams? His nose must be hurting. Yes, he looks cute, but this is not fair for this poor fluffy creature. Bless his harvest because is done with the purest love that exists on this planet.”

However, other pet owners assured that the dog is fine and that dogs in general love to bury things using their noses and paws.
