Diana Ross' ex-husband flashes fatherly smile in 'family affair' pic with daughter & grandson

Robert Ellis Silberstein is a proud father and grandfather in a recent Instagram photo with Rhonda Ross and her son Raif, as they attend a magical exhibition at the New York Historical Society Museum.

The music executive had a good time with Rhonda and Raif at the “Harry Potter: A History Magic” exhibition installed at the New-York Historical Society. The trio posed in front of a huge poster with a phoenix on it, flashing huge smiles for the camera.

“Family Affair,” Ellis captioned the Instagram picture.

Fans took over his comment section to share their thought on the family portrait. “You are the best father and Grandfather,” wrote one user. Another added, “You were all ways a kind man with a big heart,” and even Rhonda chimed in to say “Such a fun day with #raifhenok and #GrandpaBob!!!!”

Even though Ellis calls Rhonda his daughter, the truth is they’re not blood-related.

THE OTHER DAD

When Diana Ross married Robert Ellis back in 1971, she was already pregnant with Rhonda, whom she shares with former lover and manager, Berry Gordy. Ellis was aware of it, but he decided to accept Rhonda as his daughter.

Gordy, on the other hand, always kept a close relationship with the family to the point where Diana and Ellis’ kids referred to him as “uncle Gordy.”

But as they grew up, Rhonda realized the striking physical differences between her and her sisters, Tracee Ellis Ross and Chudney Ross, and when she was 12-year-old, her mom finally revealed the truth about her father.

“The bottom line was, I looked just like [Gordy], and my sisters looked just like their father, a 6-foot-tall Jewish American man,” stated the singer.

The revelation was far from dramatic for the teenage girl. It was more of a relief. And while it took her a while to get used to her new reality, the fact that Gordy always was present in her life made everything more comfortable for both of them.

“I’d meet fans on the street who’d say, ‘Oh child, we knew you were Berry Gordy’s daughter — you look just like him!’” she revealed to the New York Post.

A HAPPY BLENDED FAMILY

Rhonda, who’s now a mother of 9-year-old Raif-Henock with her longtime husband Rodney Kendrick, has a close relationship with both of her dads. She and Raif regularly hang out with Robert and Tracee Ellis Ross, and the man still maintains a close friendship with his ex-wife, Diana Ross.

When the iconic diva received her Lifetime Achievement Award at the “America Music Awards” earlier this year, all of her children and grandchildren took the stage with her. And to many people’s surprise, both Robert Ellis and Berry Gordy also stood together to celebrate the mom of their children.

The Ross family is not only huge, but they’re also very united and have each other’s backs in any situation.
