On Thursday, Silverstone was the keynote speaker at Good Housekeeping’s #RaiseTheGreenBar sustainability summit. The summit was held at Hearst Tower in New York City.

During the summit, she decided to speak out about her 7-year-old son’s plant-based diet. She claimed that her son, Bear Blu, has avoided getting sick because of his vegan lifestyle.

“He’s never had to take medicine in his life,” Silverstone, 42, said. “He can get sniffles and a runny nose but he’s not down, he still goes to school. Two times in his life has he been like, ‘Mommy I don’t feel good,’ and it was only for a few hours and he was back running around.”

Silverstone has been a vegan from the age of 21. Since then she passionately advocates for veganism and is keen on inspiring others to follow in her footsteps.

Silverstone has written two vegan cookbooks. Her first cookbook, “The Kind Diet,” features a recipe for her mom’s granola which she says is addictive.

Her adorable son, Bear is following in his mother's footsteps. He has embraced veganism and does not enjoy eating meat.

In May 2017, he appeared in a video for the nonprofit Farm Sanctuary’s Compassionate Meals program. In the video, Bear said that he enjoys being vegan because he doesn't "have to eat yucky meat.”

He loves tacos and stir-fry and his mummy is only too happy to make him delicious fresh food. She says cooking fresh food and eating vegan has made her more health conscious.

Earlier this year, Silverstone had made another revelation about young Bear. On "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" she told viewers about taking Bear to a special screening of her breakout movie "Clueless."

The mum revealed, "He loved it, but the one thing he took away from it, aside from all the things I was worried about, was he kept trying to French kiss me afterward." She reassured the audience that he had stopped doing that now but not before she said she found it quite "cute."
