'Blue Bloods' confirmed fans' worst fears about Amy Carlson's character's death
Friday night's episode of "Blue Bloods" may have left many fans distraught. But not all were shocked by the truth about the so-called accident.
The story develops with Danny (Donnie Wahlberg) finding out that Luis Delgado (Phillips) is working for the DEA as an informant. That makes him untouchable to the vengeful Danny.
Delgado was responsible for lighting Danny's house on fire during last season's finale. Luckily, Danny is now allowed to watch over Delgado who should have been preventing a drug deal for the DEA.

Instead, the mob hitman turns things around. He betrays the organization's trust and proves Danny right - that Delgado is never trustworthy.
Danny and the team follow Delgado's GPS tracking monitor to his home. But Delgado was able to get it off. He speaks to Danny from an unknown location.
"You know, I'm glad you came. There's something I want to tell you. You know your wife's helicopter accident? It really wasn't an accident."
Delgado explains that Linda's (Amy Carlson) death was intentional. It was carried out in order to thwart Danny from investigating a Mexican drug cartel. The cartel's plan obviously didn't work.
Meanwhile, fans felt blindsided by the twist. Linda's exit from the show was not welcomed by many viewers. Now they find out she was murdered.
In reality, Carlson was the one who decided she would not be renewing her contract with the show. Nonetheless, fans questioned the show's ability to stand on its own without Linda.
Carlson herself prefaced the send-off mere months before by saying that the show was stronger than ever. Following her leave, she was grateful to the network, the cast and crew, and the fans.

Her co-stars were disappointed with the turn of events. But Carlson felt it was time for her to move on and do other things. The fans may never stop asking for her to return though.
